Strong Corporate Governance
Strong corporate governance is the bedrock which underpins CAPS’ success. CAPS’ strong governance is the result of several factors :

Organisational Structure:
CAPS has instituted an organisational structure that provides strong support to good governance.

Industry-wide Respected Directors:
CAPS’ Directors are highly respected and regarded within the financial services industry

Independent Risk Director and CRO:
An Independent Risk Director sits on the Board of Directors. The executive management team includes a Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

Governance and Risk Management Committee (GRMC):
CAPS has established a Governance and Risk Management Committee (GRMC). The GRMC is tasked with ensuring that CAPS has strong internal controls and risk management measures in place. The GRMC is headed by the Independent Risk Director and reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Processes:
CAPS has extensive control procedures across the organisation. These are reinforced by a process of internal self assessment and an annual Independent Controls Review by a leading services firm. In addition, customers are allowed to audit those parts of CAPS service specific to them.

Location:
Incorporated in Singapore, CAPS enjoys the benefits of a stable, well governed jurisdiction, highly regarded for its legal framework and transparent business environment. Finally, the MAS retains an interest in the proper functioning of CAPS, as it is a significant part of the financial system in Singapore. Accordingly, while CAPS is not regulated by the MAS, it maintains a strong relationship with it to ensure it meets the expectations of the MAS in terms of governance.
